PuppetVision Blog

Making and researching my documentary PuppetVision: The Movie I’ve been constantly amazed by just how many artists are doing remarkable work in many of the not-so-well-known corners of the world. For example, when you want to find world class puppet opera I doubt you’d start looking in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. Nevertheless, that’s where you will find Opera in Focus.

The company presents remarkable, fully staged, miniature scenes from well known operas and has existed since the mid-1950s (it has been in its present, permanent theatre since 1991). It was founded by Bill Fosser and is currently owned by brothers Justin and Shayne Snyder. Their story is pretty remarkable and was recently covered by their local public television station.
