A film I’m really looking forward to seeing is Kuky Se Vrascí (Kooky’s Return). Directed by the acclaimed Academy Award winning Czech filmmaker Jan Svěrák, Kooky’s Return is about a boy who throws away his beloved teddy bear and then begins to imagine the adventures his bear Kooky has as he tries to return home. I love how visually rich this film looks and given Svěrák’s reputation for outstanding storytelling – he’s generally regarded as one of the finest Eastern European filmmakers of all time – this looks like a film you don’t want to miss.

Kooky’s Return was scheduled to be released in the Czech Republic last month. No word yet on when it will be subtitled and coming to North America, but let’s hope sometime soon!
