Coraline, based on the book by Neil Gaiman, hits theatres in 2009.
I am really looking forward to Coraline, the first feature length film from Laika (formerly Wil Vinton Studios) that’s based on the book by Neil Gaiman. It doesn’t come out until February 2009, but a short teaser for Coraline can be found online (link goes directly to a .mov file, via Drawn!) and if this sneak peek is any indication of the quality of the animation we’ll be seeing in the finished film I think Coraline will definitely be worth the wait!
If you’re interested in reading more of the behind-the-scenes story of Laika I recommend reading a really good article called The Knights’ Tale that ran in Fast Company earlier this year.
