Supergrass’ Pumping Up Your Stereo

The memorable puppet filled video for Supergrass’ Pumping Up Your Stereo featured the band members with giant, oversized puppet bodies.

This is several years old, but it’s been circulating around the web again lately so I thought I would point it out (my apologies if you’ve already seen it) – the quirky video for Pumping Up Your Stereo by Supergrass. It was originally released in 1999 and uses the Czech black theatre (or “curtain of light”) technique to give each member of the Britpop band giant funky bodies built and performed by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. The video was directed by Hammer and Tongs, who went on to work with the Creature Shop again on Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy.
