Puppets for sale!

As part of my big puppet storage clean out I’ve come across a bunch of finished, almost finished or unfinished puppets that I have to get rid of because I can longer store them. All of these were built sometime in the past three years or so (most were built as prototypes) and have never been used for filming or shows. They’d be fun for someone else to finish themselves, or if you’re learning to make puppets yourself you could take them apart and study the patterns.

With the exception of one puppet, all of these can be bought, duplicated and/or used restriction-free:

Beaver $40 sold

This Beaver is cute, but incomplete. Made from 1″ foam and lined on the inside, his head and body are more or less finished, but he’s missing arms and his tail is just uncovered foam. He’s lined on the inside with a nice soft short pile fur and a rod or dowel can be inserted in to the tail so it becomes movable. He also comes with a 11 x 27 inch piece of fur that arms can be made from. He also needs some big buck teeth!

Unfinished Pig $60 sold

An unfinished pig and an extra identical puppet head. Both heads are covered in 14 oz. Antron (or “Muppet”) fleece, as are the full bodied pig’s hooves, or “hands”. The rest of the full pig puppet’s body is exposed foam, but the neck is sleeved (currently unattached), which allows the head to move independently of the body.

Balding Pig Puppet $80 sold

Originally built for my 2004 Bear Town web series as newscaster Peter Manspork (intended to vaguley resemble Canadian newscaster Peter Mansbridge) this balding pig puppet is covered in antron fleece (head and hoves) and the rest of his body is exposed foam. He has a sleeved neck allowing the head to move independently of the body. Note that if you buy this particular puppet, you will not have the rights to it’s image and likeness and it may not be duplicated or used commercially without permission.

Chicken Puppet $65

Finished chicken puppet. Beak is moulded latex, body is stuffed fur with feathers. I’ve never liked the puppet’s eyes, but they could easily be removed and changed. Of all of these, this one is definately my favourite and the one I hate to part with the most.

Since these are for the most part unfinished items, they are all final sale, and sold “as is” without warranty. The puppets will be sold on a first come, first serve basis. Prices listed are in U.S. dollars and do not include shipping or the 6% GST (for Canadian residents only).

17/07/06 Update: Everything listed here has now been spoken for, except the chicken. I’m currently travelling in Eastern Canada so it’s not practical for me to do any additional shipping right now, but someone wants the chicken I’ll be happy to send it along in about a week or so.
