Napoleon narrates George Bush’s plot to invade the evil Inuit Arctic regime in Napoleon’s History of the World.
The Grogs are my favourite Canadian puppetry company and co-founder Jamie Shannon (see previous post) terrific 2004 short film Napoleon’s History of the World has been posted over at Atomfilms. It pokes fun at George Bush and the War in Iraq and is filled with some really creative rod and finger puppets. Please don’t be fooled by the grainy picture I’ve blown up from a thumbnail here (the actual video defied all attempts at screen capture), like almost everything the Grogs do this is really irreverent and really creative.
More great Grog puppet goodness is on the way; they have a new 3 minute show debuting on CBC in Canada next month called Mr. Meaty about two boys who slave away in a food court where their shifts go horribly wrong and morph into horror movie scenarios. I’ll be posting more information about it as soon as I have it, but it debuts on CBC February 6th and is already airing on the Nicktoons network in the U.S.
