There’s a long held tradition of Martha Stewart being relentlessly upstaged by Muppets on her TV shows and specials, but Cookie Monster took this to a whole new level in a segment from 2001 (after watching click here for the second part).

It’s hilarious because Cookie comes off as beligerent and completely self-involved; he has virtually no interest in anything that Martha has to say. My favourite part comes as Martha has Cookie tied up with ropes to prevent him from grabbing her cookies:

Cookie: Okay, here’s what me do for you. You let me loose, I get you date with Bert.
Martha: Really? Bert?
Cookie: Bert. Mister Excitement.
Martha: I love Bert.
Cookie: Really? Untie me, please.

Best…Martha Stewart…EVER.
