New Muppet projects

There was no update yesterday; I went to see The Fall of Team Justice at the Fringe Festival last night instead of blogging…forgive the gratuitous plug, but I loved it and I think it’s one of the best shows in this year’s festival. If you’re in or near Toronto there’s still two more chances to see it with performances scheduled for tomorrow at noon and Saturday night at 7:30.

Now then, on to something puppet film and video related…

The Muppet Holding Company – the Disney-owned holding company now responsible for all things Muppety – made a presentation about upcoming Muppet projects at the recent 2005 NFFC Convention. Among the projects discussed were a planned fifteen-month celebration to honour Kermit the Frog’s 50th birthday and several new Muppet TV projects – a Dean Martinesque roast hosted by Miss Piggy, the six-episode “reality” show America’s Next Muppet (see previous post) and a new Muppet Christmas special. Also in the works is a new live Muppet stage show at many of Disney’s theme parks.
