John Dykstra, Scott Stokdyk, Anthony LaMolinara and John Frazier won the Oscar for Best Visual Effects at the Oscars (deservingly) earlier tonight. And how did they make those stunning tentacles on Doc Ock look so good?

You guessed it, they were puppets.

This just in…local homeboy Chris Landreth just won the Oscar for Best Animated Short for his amazing film Ryan. Yea Chris!! Now we wait to find out if fellow Torontonian Paul Haggis scores a win as screenwriter for Million Dollar Baby.
